Family Respite Care FAQs
What is in-home respite care for special needs?
We get this question all the time. Respite care provides short-term, professional relief to primary family caregivers right in the comfort of the family home. A qualified licensed caregiver steps in to support children or adults with developmental, physical, or cognitive disabilities.
How are your in-home caregivers screened and qualified?
All of our respite care providers undergo rigorous background checks, reference checks, and specialized training (including CPR and First Aid) in special needs support. Some of them have direct experience with autism and mobility assistance.
Can respite care be customized to my child or loved one’s specific routine?
Every care plan is tailored to the individual's daily routine, communication style, and specific developmental needs. Providers assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and engaging, structured activities that we know they’ll love.
What are the scheduling options and minimum hours?
Respite care is flexible to fit varying family needs, ranging from a few hours of coverage a week to recurring part-time schedules or planned overnight support. Families can book consistent weekly breaks or opt for our drop-in availability when something comes up on your schedule.
Does the care team give my child medication during a respite visit?
Since we are a non-medical respite care service, we do not administer any medication to your child while under our care.
